The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has scheduled October 9 for the Computer-Based Test (CBT) recruitment examination for candidates in the Inspectorate and Customs Assistant cadres.

The announcement, made via the Service’s verified X and Facebook accounts, follows a mandatory pre-test conducted on October 4 to familiarise candidates with the examination platform.

According to the NCS, the upcoming test represents the second phase of its recruitment process and aligns with its commitment to transparency, accessibility, and fairness in candidate selection.

Applicants have been grouped into three batches (A, B, and C) and are required to log in with their National Identification Number (NIN) through https://updates.customs.gov.ng to confirm their batch, date, and time of the examination.

The Service cautioned that strict compliance with the allocated batch and time is mandatory, warning that failure to adhere could lead to disqualification. It also prohibited the use of calculators, mobile phones, or any external devices during the test.

NCS further advised candidates to avoid multiple log-ins or switching browser windows, as such actions could interfere with the examination process.

The test, which applies only to the Inspectorate and Customs Assistant cadres, can be taken from any location with reliable internet access. However, it must be conducted using a laptop or desktop computer with a webcam and full-screen display, as the platform is not mobile-enabled.

The NCS said the exercise is designed to ensure a seamless, merit-based selection process as part of its ongoing reforms to modernise customs recruitment and administration.
