The Nigeria Auto Journalists Association (NAJA) has set the 2025 edition of its International Auto Awards to take place on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at the Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos. The ceremony is set to commence at 18:00.
The annual awards ceremony, widely regarded as Nigeria’s most prestigious platform for celebrating excellence and innovation in the motoring industry will bring together senior government officials, auto industry leaders, and media professionals to honour remarkable achievements that continue to define the country’s automotive sector.
According to the Chairman of the Planning Committee, Frank Kintum, preparations are already in full swing to ensure that this year’s event maintains the high standards and credibility that have come to define the NAJA brand.
“The NAJA Awards have become the benchmark for recognising brands, organisations, and individuals who embody innovation, integrity, and excellence in advancing Nigeria’s automotive ecosystem. The 2025 edition will highlight progress in local vehicle manufacturing, green mobility, and policy development across the industry,” Kintum said.
Also speaking on the forthcoming event, Chairman of NAJA, Theodore Opara, emphasised that the awards go beyond recognition, serving as a strategic contribution to Nigeria’s industrial and economic development.
“As the nation’s automotive sector continues to evolve, NAJA remains dedicated to promoting initiatives that align with the Federal Government’s vision for sustainable industrial growth,” Opara noted. “We are especially pleased to have the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) as a key partner this year, given its central role in driving automotive policy and technological advancement,” he added.
Among the dignitaries expected at the 2025 ceremony are the Minister of State for Industry, Senator John Owan Enoh; the Director-General of NADDC, Chief Joseph Osanipin; the Chairmen of the National Assembly Committees on Industry; the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria; and the Director of the African Association of Automotive Manufacturers (AAAM). Several other prominent government representatives and captains of industry are also expected to attend.
Through partnerships with public and private stakeholders, NAJA has continued to position the International Auto Awards as a credible forum that promotes excellence, transparency, and sustainable growth within Nigeria’s automotive landscape. The 2025 edition, organisers say, will once again showcase how innovation and collaboration can shape the future of mobility in Africa’s largest auto market.
