The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) and the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) have resolved a technical issue disrupting the electronic transmission of Product Certificates and SONCAP documents needed for Pre-Arrival Assessment Report (PAAR) processing on the new B’Odogwu platform.

In a statement today, NCS’s Assistant Comptroller Abdullahi Maiwada, acknowledged recent delays raised by importers and licensed customs agents after SON’s integration into the platform on July 23, 2025.

Technical problems included limited space for trader names, incorrect data formatting, missing product codes, confusing error messages, and issues linking traders’ Tax Identification Numbers (TINs). While NCS resolved its portion quickly, coordination with SON was required to fully restore normal operations.

As of August 6, transmission of certificates and documents resumed seamlessly, and the backlog is being cleared. NCS confirmed ongoing commitment to nationwide rollout of B’Odogwu, with trained officers providing on-site support across all zones.

The platform, launched in October 2024, aims to modernize customs processes through a paperless system replacing the older NICIS II. It integrates key documents like Form M and PAAR and includes collaborations with banks, the Central Bank of Nigeria, FIRS, and others to facilitate smoother trade and duty payments.
