The Data and Knowledge Information Privacy Protection Initiative (DKIPPI) has conducted a data protection and privacy workshop for employees of the Nigeria High Commission in London, reinforcing Nigeria’s push for stronger compliance with global data governance standards.

Tokunbo Smith, President of DKIPPI, said the training was designed to build staff capacity, enhance regulatory awareness, and entrench a culture of data protection in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission’s (NDPC) strategic roadmap.

“The workshop reflects NDPC’s commitment to fostering global best practices. It will help participants identify risks, strengthen compliance, and promote digital trust,” Smith said.

DKIPPI, which signed a partnership agreement with the NDPC to drive data privacy sensitisation globally, said the London training underscored Nigeria’s ambition to build international credibility in digital governance.

The session was attended by Ambassador Mohammed Maina Maidugu, Acting Head of Mission to the United Kingdom, alongside staff of the High Commission.
