The Country Head, Cars45 Market Place, Patricia Duru, has offered a fresh explanation on the reason behind the organisation’s decision to launch its trade business and e-commerce platform, the Cars45 Market Place.

Duru, speaking recently in Lagos stated that the organisation’s objective of launching the business platform was to ensure that sellers and buyers of auto brands in Nigeria have protection while trading in a safe and convenient business atmosphere.

According to her, since the launch of the Cars45 Market Place platform, Cars45 business operation had been largely successful, adding that the company had consistently delivered value in a different way to consumers as opposed to the previous experience where the company basically worked with dealers and businesses.

She pointed out that, one major challenge bedeviling the automotive business sector in Nigeria was the fact that the market remained largely fragmented and without structures, while a lot of the players in the industry were having issues around trust and integrity.

Duru added that in a bid to address the challenges, Cars45, by continually leveraging the power of network effect, had come in with a mission and objective of streamlining a highly fragmented ecosystem into a more structured one, and ensuring that automotive trade in the country was largely sustained in a manner that Nigerians could conveniently carry out their auto transactions without fears.

“Again, as I mentioned, we are constantly evolving by pushing ourselves to achieve things and constantly working towards ensuring that we do more and offer more to our consumers.

“It is based on this that we basically launched our Cars45 Market Place, and the reason for this is simple. We want to be able to create value for our customers who have come through and basically didn’t like whatever valuation they’ve gotten by giving them another opportunity to come and get 30 percent more,” she said.

Continuing, she said: “And to date we’ve given out over 90 percent guarantee sales on the Market Place, and what the Market Place does is to ensure that sellers and buyers do have protection and trade in a safe and convenient way.

“We do all the heavy lifting for you; at least you are sure of getting a verified car once you are coming to buy a car because there is a lot of thorough vetting that has been done. For instance, there is 200 point inspection, due diligence, and a background check. So, there is no way you are going to get a car that is funny,” she said.
