Governor Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has signed the N617.95 billion 2026 Appropriation Bill into law, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to fiscal discipline and infrastructure-led development.
The governor assented to the budget in Gombe after receiving the approved bill from the Gombe State House of Assembly, led by Speaker Abubakar Luggerrewo.
Yahaya said the state had recorded significant progress over the past six years through prudent resource management and effective budget implementation, adding that his administration would sustain its development drive despite prevailing economic challenges.
He also commended President Bola Tinubu for ongoing federal projects supporting Gombe’s development and praised the state legislature for its cooperation in advancing good governance.
Earlier, Luggerrewo disclosed that the original N535.69 billion budget proposal presented in November was increased by N82.26 billion following legislative review, bringing the total budget size to N617.95 billion in the interest of the state’s development.
